Tip 1: Keywords

It is important to optimize your website with keywords people may search for; this could be a product, service or knowledge you or your website offers.

Tip 2: Titles and Meta Tags

Each webpage should to have a title, choose the right title that is relevant to the content on your webpage. There should not be any duplicate titles throughout your website. Even though some search engines do not use the “description” Meta tag, I recommend adding one to your webpage. Use the “description” Meta tag to describe your webpage content.

Tip 3: Back-links

A back-link is a link from another website which leads to your website, the more back-links you have the better. To help you get back-links, try to have useful content on your website that people may want to link to.

Tip 4: Images & Animation

Search engines can only read text; try to avoid using too much images and animation as the content in the image or animation cannot be read by search engines. If you have to use images, use the “alt” tag to indicate what the image is.

Tip 5: Duplicate Content

Avoid duplicate content one your website. Search engines are not fond to duplicate content, although certain small amounts are tolerated, so when writing your webpage, ensure you do not use the same content that is on another page.
